FFNCA member Leslie Sussan will talk about her book Choosing Life about her father’s journey in film from Hollywood to Hiroshima. Her presentation will introduce the true story of  Leslie’s, father’s crew which shot the only color film footage of the aftermath of the atomic bombings and its suppression by the US Government for decades. Rather than arguing past decisions, she focuses on the way the bombing and films affected survivors (known as hibakusha) and played through generations of her own family. We can think together about what legacies we receive from our parent’s lives and how we pass the stories to our children.
